Welcome to Christmas Splendor!

As a child, Christmas was my most favorite holiday - the lights, the trees, the snow, Christmas music, the cookies and candies my mom would so lovingly prepare.  And, of course, finally being able to open those presents that had teased and taunted us for weeks.

But the most wonderful time of the season was attending the Christmas Eve service, seeing, as if for the very first time, the manger scene unfold before our very eyes.  There was such a sense of love and peace and joy - a warm glow enveloping all in attendance that never seemed so real as it did on that special night.  We were celebrating the most priceless gift we would ever receive - God's Son.

Just as Jesus did not remain that tiny baby in the stable, I grew up as well and started my own family, Christmas is still my most favorite holiday - the lights, the trees, the snow, the music the homemade "goodies" and the gifts begging to be opened.  And we still attend Christmas Eve services and celebrate God's indescribable gift.

But there is also something else now.  Something I didn't think about as I was growing up.  With each passing Christmas, God has also given me the gift of memories - memories that I can "unwrap" at any time and cherish, once again, the love and peace and warmth I experienced as a child.

Christmas Splendor is my way of thanking my Heavenly Father for the indescribable gift of His Son, His love - and memories.  My prayer is, that as you browse through the pages, you will remember special times you had as a child at Christmastime.  And if you don't have any, well, my prayer is that this site will help you to not only celebrate Christ and His great love, but will help you start making memories of your own - memories that will last a lifetime.
